Scissors
The blades on left-handed scissors are set so that, whichever way you hold them, the left blade is always on top. This means that a left-hander has a clear view of the cutting line. Many left-handers used to right-handed scissors hold the scissors at an angle trying to see the cutting line. Very uncomfortable and after a while the thumb will start to ache. Of course our scissors also have grips moulded for the left hand.
Knives
We do not sell knives and here's why.
Everybody holds a knife different. We have heard left-handers who prefer the serrations to be on the right side of the blade and those who prefer serrations to be on the left side. If you go to any well stocked shop for kitchen utensils they will have som knives with the serrations on the left side and some on the right side, you can try different knives and choose what's best for you. Since you will be able to try and find the best knife for you in a shop where you live we can't see any reason why we should sell it to you. Our idea is to offer products that are virtually impossible to find in "normal" stores like rulers, can-openers, corkscrews or scissors for left-handers.
Can-opener
A left-handed can-opener is held in the right hand and the rotary handle turned away from you with the left hand, on the left side of the can - allowing left-handers to use their stronger hand.
Our classic can-opener is held in the left hand on the left side of the can and worked clockwise around the can.
Peeler
The best motion for peeling is to move the peeler towards the body. This is not possible with a right-handed peeler held in the left hand as the cutting edge is facing the wrong way. Our peelers are fully left-handed.
Corkscrew
A left-handed corkscrew has a screw which turns anti-clockwise, a natural motion for a left-hander. Left-handers are stronger when using the anti-clockwise motion just as right-handers are stronger using the clockwise motion. If you want a good laugh the corkscrew is also perfect gift for a right-hander.
Ladle
Our ladles have lips on the right side of the bowl (when a left-handers is holding it) or on both sides to fit both left-handers and right-handers.
Secateur
Just like the scissors we sell the secateurs have reversed blades and hand grips comfortably positioned for left-hand use. The lock is also positioned on the right side of the secateur (when held in the left hand) so you can use your left thumb to lock it.
Folding ruler
A folding ruler just like a normal ruler has the scale running from right to left.
Measuring tape
Left-handers usually hold the measure in their left hand and pull with the right, but the numbers are always upside down. Our measuring tape has the scale running from right to left, so you wont have this problem.
Stabilo pen
A new interpretation of the fountain pen, an ergonomically designed rollerball. This pen is only for left-handers because the grip is moulded for a comfortable fit in the left hand. (A version for right-handers are available in stores)
Yoropen
The Yoropen can be used by both left-handers and right-handers but has some features that makes it perfect for left-handers.
The angle of the Yoropen ensures that you can clearly see what you are writing. Fingers do not obstruct the field of vision. With the Yoropen left-handers can hold the pen in an upright and relaxed position and will no longer smudge their writing. The Yoropen also has a tripod grip that can be rotated until you find your preferred writing position.
The Yoropen is ideal for writing over sustained periods such as exams, for teaching children to write and for those with handwriting difficulties or disabilities.
The Yoropen won the Gold medal at the International Inventions Fair in Geneva in 2002.
Ruler
All our rulers are scaled from right to left for drawing lines in the natural direction for a left-hander.
Pencil sharpener
A left-handed sharpener is made so that the pencil is held in the left hand and turned in a natural, anti-clockwise motion.
Pencil grip
A pencil grip is used on any normal sized pen or pencil to encourage the correct writing grip.
It can be used by left-handers or right-handers depending which way you put it on the pen/pencil.
Playing cards
Most playing cards only have the number on two diagonal corners, which become covered up when cards are fanned in the left hand. These playing cards have the number on all four corners.
Swiss army knife
Swiss army knives have small gashes on each tool to make it easy to open the tool from the body of the knife. A left-handed knife has the gashes on the other side of the blade so that you can hold the body of the knife in the left hand ready for use and open the tool with the right thumb.
And of course the scissors and corkscrew are made for left-handers (scissors blades reversed and corkscrew to be turned anti-clockwise).
Left-handed mouse
We have chosen no to sell a left-handed mouse. First of all we think they are way to expensive. An ergonomic mouse for left-handers can also be found in any well stocked computer shop, especially the ones on the internet. As with knives, if it is available everywhere else we can't see any reason why we should sell it. Our idea is to offer products that are virtually impossible to find in "normal" stores like rulers, can-openers, corkscrews or scissors for left-handers.
You can if you wish easily install a free software on your computer making it shift from left-handed use to right-handed use with just a click.
